The drivers in those headsets have the function for center, rear, front and subwoofer sounds. that's why it's 5.1. Those headsets also have more then just 2 speakers. I know one that has 8 speakers intergrated.
The cheapest one if seen is €55,-

i dont believe they have 6 speakers but its virtual 5.1 which if you put some cash into it can be just like the real thing
and if i were you id get this lil more than you want but looks the shit and its 7.1 i know its almost twice as expensive then what your looking for but to get quality 5.1 sound for 35€ is a lil out of reach if you ask me
i use plantronics headsets and i was so happy with them when they broke i just went and bought the same headset
PS: the headphones wasted posted only have 1,2m of cable which is a little short guess they are used for ipods and walkmans

dont know about you but i can safely say that my computer is more than 1,2m away from my head (on the ground) taking into account that i like to lean back in my chair and have some freedom of movement but if i ever wanna feel like a dog on a leash ill definitely get a headset with a short cable
(1,2m is ok for a laptop btw)

Imo...it's just a waste of money. If you really want the 5.1 effect then invest in a sound system not headphones...headphones are unhealthy anyways.

I used to have the Speedlink Medusa NX 5.1 gaming headset (i think) which you can get for around 50 euros these days. I did like it a lot, it could go LOUD and the sound was pretty good and the mic was good too. It is real 5.1 and not virtual. I have only used it on stereo though. I can't test the 5.1 for you since ehmmm I woke up one day and the cable was melted. What I didn't like about it was that it has an extra usb cable to get power. I thought it had a souncard chip in it so it would work just via usb, but it was only for power so that sucked. Anyway when I did research for a headset about a year ago this was the best option for me. Not so expensive and still pretty good reviews. I know "trust" has cheaper ones but I don't like trust products at all.

I think that the usb is for 5.1 since u can only get that with a usb. Anyway I got the razer electra and im pretty happy with them
